Paint Correction

Paint correction (swirl removal) is a labor-intensive process that requires the use of abrasives (compounds and polishes) to restore that like new condition. Essentially it is the reduction or removal of scratches and imperfections in the top layer of paint to produce a more level refined finish. Typically these imperfections are concealed with wax and fillers but at DECON we aim to remove such imperfections in a safe and professional manner. Such imperfections may include but not limited to scratches, swirl marks, water spots, etching from bird droppings, holograms (buffer trails), etc.

In addition to all of our detailing packages, we highly recommend the addition of one of our Protective Paint Coating applications to help maintain your new finish for a long period of time!

Single Stage Paint Correction

Single-Stage Paint Correction Detail – “Good”

Single-Stage or “One-Step” paint correction utilizes one type of polish and pad combination to achieve a desired result. At this level you can expect light imperfections such as marring, scratches, swirl marks, and haze to dissipate depending on the type of vehicle. Approximately 50%-75% correction can be achieved on softer paints, whereas on harder paints you may only see a 30%-50% correction. As a result of various paint systems reacting differently from one manufacturer to the next, DECON test multiple spots with numerous pad and polish combinations to achieve the best results. At this level of paint correction customers witness a significant transformation to their vehicles paint color and finish.

Hand-wash (Utilize Proper techniques to prevent swirls and marring of finish)
Chemical and/or Mechanical removal of embedded contaminants
Wheels and inner barrels cleaned (removes break dust and dirt)
Wheel wells scrubbed and cleaned
Single-Stage machine polish
Door and trunk jambs cleaned
Application of a durable wax/sealant providing long lasting protection
Tires dressed (non-greasy, no-sling)

Hybrid Paint Correction Detail – “Better”

Hybrid Paint Correction Detail is just as the name states. It is a mixture of a Single-Stage (One-Step) paint correction and a Multi-Stage (Two-Step) paint correction to achieve a desired result. At this level we perform a Multi-Stage paint correction for moderate to heavy defect removal from the site-line of the vehicle on up (Roof, hood, trunk, upper doors, and upper quarter panel of wheel wells, etc.) with approximately 80%-90% defect removal. These areas in particular love to accent imperfections in your vehicles paint under direct sunlight. On all lower portions of the vehicle we perform a Single-Stage paint correction for light defect removal with approximately 50%-75% defect removal. This particular detail is aimed at those consumers that want their vehicle to look as good as possible but may not have a full Multi-Stage Correction Detail within their budget or perhaps simply do not view it as a necessity. With this mid-level detail a dramatic difference can be seen in color, gloss, and clarity of your vehicles finish.

Multi-Stage Paint Correction Detail – “Best”

Multi-Stage Paint Correction utilizes two or more different polish and pad combinations to achieve a desired result. Typically our first step is a compound married with a cutting pad for the moderate to heavy defect removal. At this point if a particular defect has not been removed we make the determination as to whether or not it should or even can be safely removed. If it is possible then an additional or third step can be added. Our second step utilizes a finishing polish and pad combination to remove any marring or haze left in the paint from the first step and to refine your vehicles finish. At this stage we are aiming for a swirl free near perfect finish with an approximate 80-90% defect removal. Individuals seeking this type of correction want that near flawless new car appeal! The pictures below show a Multi-Stage Paint Correction that clearly enhances depth of color and reflection!

Restorative/Multi-Stage Paint Correction Detail – “Perfection”

At this level of detail you are receiving the absolute best! Multi-Stage Paint Correction utilizes two or more different polish and pad combinations to achieve the finest finish we can safely accomplish. Every portion of your vehicles surface receives the same amount of attention for effective removal of moderate to heavy defects. At this level of paint correction our goal is to obtain perfection on all painted surfaces in a safe and professional manner. Every square inch of your painted surface is inspected utilizing high-powered LED inspection lighting to ensure the paint refinement process is of the highest quality. At this level additional services are available to you for the absolute best restoration and preservation of your vehicle! Services include but not limited to rubber & plastic components, leather, window, or any other areas deemed necessary for the perfect restoration.
